Commentary BY EDMOND ARIZAJ Two arrows in the body of the PD For the first time for Sali Berisha, keeping one’s word and keeping hold of [inside] the party could bring him defeat. The defeat that his opponents could not bring him. The Prime Minister, who has built with effort, but also with evidence, the profile of a politician who does not break agreements, who does not “betray your trust,” does not disappoint even on this election eve. Three Socialist MPs, who with their votes brought Berisha’s government to the regular elections, are today on the safe lists of the Democratic Party. An absolute loyalty of Sali Berisha to the principles of his kept promise. The eyes of ordinary Albanians have seen the feeling of the ancient man who “speaks only once.” In the eyes of politics Berisha permanently destroyed the “issue” of ideological parties. At least for the old (former) Socialist, Kastriot Islami, it cannot be said today that he changed his ideology. So Berisha simply “signed” the widely discussed idea that in Albania there is no left or right ideology, only interest, spite, or gain, on the left or on the right. But precisely this keeping of his word, this stance of a “man of his word” with the three former MPs (what could they do against Berisha if he told them I want this, but there are many objections), is the first arrow Berisha drives into the ribs of his own party.
