Comment BY AFRIM KRASNIQI The New Pillars of Elections The election campaign has several financial costs: the amount paid from the state budget, the amount paid through election loans/donations, the amount paid by the political parties themselves, the amount paid by the candidates and, finally, the amount paid by the economy and society. According to official data, the government has given 723 million lek to the CEC for its electoral functions. Through additional assets, the official figure provided by the state budget is around 7.5 million euros. A third parallel line for the purchase of equipment for electronic counting and identity card verification also takes another 4.2 million euros from the state budget. International donors, with their monitoring assistance programs, etc., within the framework of aid to Albania, have calculated a budget ranging from 1.5 to 1.7 million euros. The political parties themselves (66) in the electoral race have for months been collecting reserve funds, which are declared after the elections.
