Editorial BY ANILA BASHA Misfortune outside the door If a government that has held more than 450 cabinet meetings, and was not voted for by 1 million Albanians, that is, more than half of the voters, it means it was a failed government. Have you ever heard when we go to cafés, talking over the fence, one hits the nail and the other the horseshoe, as we often mention at the table????? Well then, that was yesterday’s meeting of the Council of Ministers, the last one (thank God) held by the outgoing prime minister, and with no kind of remorse for what he did not do and for which all Albanians voted against him, at least the majority of them. In a victory of the left, one must say plebiscitary, as rarely before since 1992, the time when Albanians overthrew communism in Albania. They would have believed Doctor Berisha more yesterday if he could have said a word about the failures of his government, and why Albanians hated it so much, so much that they left PD with almost 30 deputies in parliament (since the others are allies, or those imported from PS). It would be more honest for a former outgoing leader of the main democratic force in Albania, and for a prime minister who led this country for 8 years, to tell us and apologize, why 1 million Albanians did not accept the alternative... ► continues on page 11
