Comment BY ARDIAN NDRECA The two waiters of comrade Sali If any serious researcher of the human psyche were to analyze Berisha’s relations with his collaborators at all levels, starting from former guards all the way to his deputies, he would certainly bring to light an interesting series of data about his troubled personality. After all, he has no friends in the sense that friendship has in Western civilization. He has people who have submitted to him because he has pulled them out of the mire of society, others because he has enriched them, dressed them in power, protected them, promoted them, helped them with all means. Their ties with the boss are ties of vital gratitude, ties of submission, fear, vassalage, interest, benefit, insecurity, blood ties; long ago, at the center, those ties are crossed by a more naive and by a spiritual enthusiasm of simple souls, but among them there is no true friendship. The Latin orator and philosopher Cicero meditated on true friendship more than two thousand years ago, seeing friendship as a mirror in which man seeks his alter ego in order to conduct life and fill the soul with the mind that springs from and intertwines unceasingly with the sense of honor.
