Comment BY AFRIM KRASNIQI The unspoken effects of territorial division For months, the parallel efforts of the two political sides regarding territorial reform have continued: one side supports it, demands it, and promises to do it through parliamentary numbers, and another side that rejects it, fears it, and calls for protests if it is approved. In fact, both sides are aware that a new territorial reform must be carried out; both sides know the legal obligation for the new reform and not last year’s; both sides promised it in the election campaign and both sides have a long-term interest in this reform. Between the principled consensus of the two sides and the deep divide between them there are other interests that few speak about. They are not local boundaries nor the terms of commune mayors, they are not the existence of the district nor the differences in the new projection.
