Commentary BY ILIR DHIMA Why does the EU insist on uncovering 21 January Just on the eve of the VI Meeting of the Stabilisation and Association Council between the European Union and Albania, held at the beginning of this week, the confidential 24-page Brussels document, which expressed the position of the 28 Member States, among other things stressed the great importance of a credible judicial process for the events of 21 January. In fact, this is not the first time that the Union to which we aspire to accede has given such consideration; for the past three years, since the delays in the judicial proceedings regarding this event began in Albania, and although full evidence was available, laughable rulings were issued by a Court of First Instance and by the Court of Appeal, aimed at ensuring that the true causes of that unprecedented massacre would not be uncovered... continues on page 15
