Commentary BY FATOS ÇOÇOLI Why do we receive less money from the EU? The European Commission announced the day before yesterday how much money it has allocated up to 2020 for Albania and for the other Balkan countries that are candidate countries, or that want to join the EU. That amounts to an average of 80-90 million euros per year for the next seven years, including this one. We had hoped that with the granting of candidate status, the funds for us would have doubled, or even quadrupled (this happened to countries such as Croatia and Bulgaria when they obtained this status). continues on page 16
