BY Ilir DHIMA A look at the relations between the High Council of Justice and politics Over the past few weeks, especially after a parliamentary investigative committee was set up over alleged violations of the law by the High Council of Justice, the dismissal of the Deputy Chairman and another member of this judicial self-governing institution was in fact announced. These are two of the 3 jurists elected, in accordance with the provisions of Article 147/1 of the Constitution, by the Parliament of Albania. This signal, given particularly during the work of the relevant investigative committee, was then turned into a decision by Parliament, where during its plenary session the committee’s report and the proposals of its members were approved, giving with the absolute vote of the deputies the green light to the dismissal of Elvis Çefa and Lulzim Leçkaj. —► continued on page 16
