International Women’s Day has a curious origin and, as one would say today, an “inclusive” one. Born in the United States in 1908 to fight against the exploitation by employers of female workers who were paid less than men, even though they were forced to work more hours a day than men, against sexual discrimination and for women’s right to vote, it was initially celebrated on the last Sunday of February.
