WHAT FORCED BASHA TO CHANGE THE PROTEST SCENARIO
Yesterday, the PD broke with the tradition of peaceful rallies under Basha’s leadership, attacking the police cordon at the Ministry of the Interior; injuries on both sides. After one hour of conflict, the PD leader stepped in and, as if by magic, stopped the violent protesters. Turnout was lower than at previous opposition protests

There were no heroes in the opposition protest
The injury — fortunately minor — of the editor-in-chief of “Rilindja Demokratike”, Bledi Kasmi, during yesterday’s protest organized by the opposition, immediately prompted the Democratic Party to come out denouncing a scandal involving an injured journalist. Many analysts set out to examine, frame by frame, the images broadcast by television stations, and in particular the Report TV footage, the only station that filmed Kasmi’s injury up close. But the journalists’ analysis went in the wrong direction: in fact, everyone focused on figuring out whether Kasmi had been hit by a police baton (as really happened) or by a stone thrown by another protester, while few stopped to point out what Kasmi was doing at that moment, when he was struck by the policeman.
