In the context of preparations for the eighth Congress of the Socialist Party of Albania, yesterday a meeting was held in the party headquarters offices, with the party chairman, the 23 new members of the presidency, and the party deputy chairman. Members of the General Steering Committee also took part.
First stage:
The purpose of this meeting, according to the opening remarks by Mr. Servet Pëllumbi, was the discussion of the theses on the party structure, the concept of the program, the congress declarations, as well as the organizational plan for the Congress proceedings.
The presidency of this meeting, after hearing and approving the discussion, approved 11 congress documents,
In the first part of the discussion at the meeting, several amendments and candidacies for deputies in the assembly were made
... a free vote on the responsibilities of the G.S.C. was discussed for all the materials.
The presidency considered the work at this meeting concluded, adjourning the session at 10:40.
The presidency states that all 23 new members of the presidency and the 4 deputy chairmen responded seriously and the discussions ended successfully.
In a second phase, the General Steering Committee met and approved the documents that will be presented at the congress.

The decisions taken state that from March 28 to 31, conferences for the selection of candidates for the congress will be held in districts and prefectures.
For this purpose, the presidency calls on all party organizations to complete by March 24 the selection of candidates for delegates to the congress.
In the very preliminary preparation process, the G.S.C. included discussions of all the materials.
