The USA warns Albania: “Watch the local elections!” Meeting at the American Embassy. Yesterday morning, at the headquarters of the US Embassy in Tirana, the first secretary of the PSSH, prof. dr. Rexhep Meidani, together with other members of this party's leadership, were received and met with the US ambassador to Albania, Ms. Marisa Lino, and the embassy's senior political adviser. During this meeting, the current political situation in Albania was discussed. Regarding the pressures exerted by the US ambassador in Tirana, the first secretary of the PSSH, Rexhep Meidani, on behalf of this party, thanked Ms. Marisa Lino for the assessments made by the international community of the stance taken by Albanian political forces, and especially of publicity and legality. Among other things, at the meeting Ms. Lino assured that the American administration would continue to closely follow the situation in the country, especially the current political situation in Albania, as well as the developments in the local elections.
