At the PSSH headquarters PSSH Chairman Fatos Nano received yesterday at the party headquarters a group of European Community monitors, led by Ambassador Berndt [?[]. During the meeting, they discussed the political and social interests and developments in the country. First, Mr. Nano was informed by those present of the concern of the monitoring bodies about the work so far of the international mission monitoring the situation in our country and, in particular, about the outbreak of violence in many cities across the country. Mr. Nano assured those present that the PSSH and the Albanian left are playing an important role in resolving the crisis in the country. He asked that the interest of the monitoring bodies and the governments of the countries they represent be further strengthened on the diplomatic level and more diversified in solving the acute issues of the Albanian crisis. He informed the EC monitors about the platform of the national reconciliation government, about the reforms undertaken by it to normalize the situation in the country, as well as about the talks so far and the prospects for the development of relations with other political forces and the Albanian social spectrum. Nano praised the work of the monitors and expressed gratitude for the support so far for Albania and for the attention paid to its democratization process.
