We will help your government carry out the reforms

American President Bill Clinton supports Prime Minister Nano Yesterday, the U.S. ambassador to Tirana, Mariza Lino, held a friendly meeting with the head of the Prime Minister's Office, Prime Minister Fatos Nano. On this occasion she delivered to Mr. Nano a warm message of friendship and support for the people and government of Albania, signed by President Bill Clinton. The message reads: Dear Mr. Prime Minister, My warmest congratulations on your appointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania. The past years have been very difficult for Albania. The severe turmoil and economic insecurity that has affected the country represent an extremely great challenge for your government. I wish to inform you that the United States of America will work in full partnership with your administration to rebuild the democratic and economic institutions necessary for the outstanding prosperity of your country. In light of the political polarization that has battered your society, your willingness to include a broad spectrum of political forces in the governing process is most encouraging. So too is your declaration of readiness for full cooperation with the international community. I am confident that in due course your country will move in the right direction thanks to the dedication and administration that we will provide. WILLIAM JEFFERSON CLINTON
