EUROPE: THERE WILL BE NO NEW ELECTIONS

The high-level delegation, made up of ministers from the CoE, OSCE and EP, successfully completed its visit to Albania The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Leni Fisher, reading the press statement LEGITIMATE PARLIAMENT The constitution must be approved within 1998 A delegation made up of 7 members of the Parliaments and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE, Europe and the European Parliament paid a visit to Albania from 22 to 23 January 1998. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, represented by Mr. Leni Fisher (Austria) and Mr. Jan Petersen (Norway), the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE, with its President, Ms. Helle Degn (Denmark), as well as the European Parliament paid a visit to Albania from 22 to 23 January 1998. At the invitation of the Speaker of the Parliament of Albania, Mr. Skënder Gjinushi, the delegation held talks with all political parties, as well as with members of the government and the head of state. The purpose of the delegation’s visit was to bear witness to the discussion of political issues of common interest and to express the continued support of the pan-European institution for the democratic process, economic development and national reconciliation.
