The Prosecutor General before the parliamentary Committee on Mandates Tirana — On Thursday, the Parliamentary Committee on Rules of Procedure, Mandates and Immunity deemed the evidence presented by Prosecutor General Arben Rakipi sufficient to lift the immunity of DP MP Azem Hajdari. “Initially, the committee members asked the prosecutor whether it was possible to summon Hajdari to the prosecutor’s office as a witness regarding the Milot incident. After the facts presented by Rakipi, they became convinced that evidence exists for lifting the immunity, which can only be done after Hajdari’s immunity is lifted,” said Petro Koçi, a committee member, after the meeting. According to Rakipi, this evidence concerns Hajdari’s role in the Milot incident, as an instigator of violent acts and insults against the police. (Continued on page 4)
