The Economic Policy Committee, chaired by Arben Malaj, met today for a working meeting with the permanent observers of the IMF in Tirana and representatives of the World Bank. The latter has expressed its readiness to support the Albanian economy with credits and loans. The policies drafted so far to ease the crisis will be negotiated [?] with the government and the representatives of the ministers responsible for infrastructure and finance. The total amount, as regards the full cencsos [?] of the loans, could range from 70-80[sic] million dollars, although the main prospect of benefiting from them is based on the restructuring of the fiscal system, etc. Likewise, the Economic Policy Committee discussed the so-called money-laundering schemes and the spectacular disappearances of senior officials from these institutions. In the balance of the figures of Memon [?]-2, the people of this institution have deposited around 8.5 million marks in the year, as we speak, working with the observers of the IMF and the World Bank. Parallel to the negotiations, the Committee believes that the Albanian government will also raise major questions about the activity of many non-banking financial institutions. The Committee for Economic Policy also discussed the pressure of the money-laundering schemes as well as the responsibilities that financial institutions have for citizens' actions in Albanian investments. One of the measures that the Albanian government and the observers of this ministry of infrastructure and finance will take is the decision for commercial banks to report every transaction above an amount of 11.00 [?]. With the PSSH, a meeting will be organized at the secretariat of the committees of the district and district organizations, where they will report on the problems that are troubling many workers and other sessions.
