Maqo and Dede at the Socialist International TIRANA—Prime Minister Pandeli Majko has considered the participation and the high international profile of the Albanian delegation at the Stockholm congress a major achievement, since for the first time PSSH has been invited to be present in the Socialist International. According to official sources from the Council of Ministers, the Albanian prime minister valued this participation, calling it an event of importance in the country’s political life. The steadfast position of the Albanian government regarding the war in Kosovo, the political understanding within the country, and the solidarity of the majority of Albanians with their brothers in Kosovo are seen as some of the key factors behind this rapprochement and integration. “I think that this high-level participation has opened the right path for PSSH to become a full member of this structure,” the head of government emphasized. According to him, this is an encouraging sign, not for the socialist government, but for Albania itself and for the Albanians who, with NATO’s support, are liberating their Kosovo. PSSH was represented at the congress by the Secretary for International Relations, Maqo Lakrori, and by the PDS deputy, Gjergj Dede.
