President Rugova again in the USA Yesterday, the President of Kosovo, Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, arrived for a visit in the USA. During his stay in the United States, he will meet representatives of the American administration as well as senators and members of the U.S. Congress. Although his visit is political in nature and will last about a week, its aim is to raise American awareness of the Kosovo issue. According to information received yesterday from news agencies, President Rugova’s visit is important for Kosovo’s future, with hopes for a peaceful solution to this problem. The President of Kosovo is expected to meet senior officials of the American administration, but no specific meeting with President Bill Clinton has been announced. His visit to the United States is an effort to draw the attention of the government and American public opinion to the situation in Kosovo, as well as to the status of Albanians in Yugoslavia. According to analysts, this visit is expected to have a positive impact on the process of resolving the Kosovo issue. By drawing the attention of the United States, Rugova seeks to secure greater international support for the rights of Albanians in Kosovo. With the same goal, he had previously met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and has held contacts with various political and diplomatic representatives. The Democratic League of Kosovo and the LDK have valued this visit as an important step in increasing international pressure on Belgrade. Gjatë qëndrimit të tij në SHBA, ai do të takohet me përfaqësues të administratës amerikane si dhe me senatorë e deputetë të Kongresit amerikan. Ndonëse vizita e tij në SHBA është e karakterit politik dhe do të zgjatë rreth një javë, ajo ka si qëllim të rrisë sensibilitetin amerikan për çështjen e Kosovës. Sipas një informacioni të marrë dje nga agjencitë e shtypit, vizita e presidentit Rugova është e rëndësishme për të ardhmen e Kosovës, duke shpresuar në një zgjidhje paqësore për këtë problem. Presidenti i Kosovës pritet të takohet me zyrtarë të lartë të administratës amerikane, por nuk është bërë i ditur ndonjë takim konkret me Presidentin Bill Klinton. Sebbene la sua visita abbia carattere politico e duri circa una settimana, il suo obiettivo è aumentare la sensibilità americana sulla questione del Kosovo. Secondo un'informazione ricevuta ieri dalle agenzie di stampa, la visita del presidente Rugova è importante per il futuro del Kosovo, nella speranza di una soluzione pacifica di questo problema.
