After the departure of the chairman of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, for the Council of Europe, and Robert Çeku for the U.S., only the party's secretary general, Sabri Godo, remains to solve the party's internal and external problems. The departures of the Republican Party leaders to two different political and diplomatic destinations have raised many questions at the party headquarters. On Tuesday afternoon, at the parliamentary group meeting, the new candidacy of Mr. Robert Çeku for Parliament was approved. Yesterday, meetings were held in the Republican Party with several members of the parliamentary group, who discussed the procedural steps to be followed in the process of reorganizing them. According to Mr. Godo, as he told journalists, those who will remain with a redefined status in the Republican Party are seven former MPs, after their situation is addressed within the party structures. One of the topics discussed at the meeting was also the position of future party members in relation to the parliamentary group.
