How much has the number of PS members risen these days?!

At their first congress, our socialists declared that they had exactly 100,000 members. How much has the number of PS members risen these days?! WILL THEY REALLY STAY ON WITHOUT ANY COMMUNIST PARTY OF THE ’90s?! At their first congress, our socialists declared that they had exactly 100,000 members. It was said that this was the number needed to be admitted into the Socialist International, and then, as it was said, there were no Enverists left in the ranks of the PS (as if those who had run the ML Institute, which had itself studied and published Enverism, did not deserve that label), not even a single communist, and furthermore, not one among those 100,000 members supposedly had any nostalgia for communism! Trusting the reports of the former communists, even a foreigner was misled, the envoy of the Italian Socialist Party. He raised the number of members to 100,001 and said that, according to the rules and out of courtesy, he would pay the membership fee willingly! And this currency the PS will use to help the underprivileged! These days, when the outlawing of communists was discussed, the socialists felt like those unmarried girls who have lost their virginity! Since they have not yet been accepted as Western socialists, and fearing they might be confused with communists, they became so again. AMERICA SAVED?! The former chairman of the former Albanian Communist Party, Mr. Hysni Milloshi, when presenting the program of the former party on TVSH, declared that Anver Hoxha, with his brave principles, challenged America for fifty years straight. Mr. Hysni decided to continue the internationalist work of the former deceased one. Poor America! But... those rabbit prophecies are still relevant, when the order was given to sign all the agreements. "Come on, brothers, let’s run, because once they find out that we are rabbits and not donkeys, the bushes will have taken over!" But do our "socialists" really have only the communists’ "ies"? Will the communists of the "first one" be depoliticized or de-partied? How can you go on without party meetings! Where will they take their militarism, where will they gather their Enverism? Or are they not ashamed to sit there like shy girls, among the "socialists" in Parliament, when the outlawing of the PK was being discussed? They say some of our socialists drink coffee and enjoy brandy, at very low prices, at the "Enveri" café-buffet opened by the communists of Hysni Milloshi, now legal as a party man, but freelancing as a poet! The PS is wasting its time by dragging out its grudge with the communists, wasting it! SIHARQ: The Albanian Parliament outlawed the Albanian Communist Party. America can now stand up. It has been saved! The steamed former Enverist communism. Yet even on the grave it is still fresh. Its ghost has come alive under another name... DEMIAN KOTI

Among other things...

On 16 July 1992, Mr. Arshi Pipa held a press conference... Among other things... On 16 July 1992, Mr. Arshi Pipa gave a press conference for local and foreign journalists. It is worth noting that throughout the event Mr. Arshi, as in other meetings, insisted that Gheg Albanian should be developed in Albania and restored as the literary norm. There is nothing new in this, said Mr. Pipa, since one language or another forms the literary language. Those present were also pleased by the fact that Mr. Pipa spoke in pure Tosk Albanian. The institutionalization of diplomacy with Albanians. After the conclusion, a pragmatic agreement on misunderstandings over the foundations of their departure was again smoothed over. The price of a single aspirin tablet dropped to 5 lek (it is rising).

APPEAL of the national association of the expropriated «Property with justice»

Members of the association, family members of former small, medium, or large property owners expropriated by the communist dictatorial regime! APPEAL of the national association of the expropriated «Property with justice» Members of the association, family members of former small, medium, or large property owners expropriated by the communist dictatorial regime! Although the hated communist regime was legally overthrown, its agents have again raised their voices in plunder; without an ordered restitution this will be long-lasting and valid. As for the return of property, instead of restoring their legal rights, the new power still holds old views; they continue to call the arbitrary plunder carried out by the communist dictatorship against your assets just! These gentlemen, who want to present themselves favorably in order to convince the world and especially democratic Europe, are loudly trumpeting that, supposedly, the property of expropriated owners will be returned to us, but in fact nothing has been done, and even now they only have a few sheets of paper. We emphasize again that, on the basis of the draft law prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture and other ministries to be submitted to the government and parliament, thousands of requests from our association, starting from 7 May 1991 with Prime Minister Maks, and on 6 June with President Berisha, those draft laws (announced) were left pending for discussion in parliament after [?] (To be continued on page 4)

The parliamentarians began their break...

A few hundred meters from the center of Tirana, amid greenery and the evergreen color, stands the Academy of Sciences, and next to it an old Austrian-style building known as PARLIAMENT. THE PARLIAMENTARIANS BEGAN THEIR VACATION... A few hundred meters from the center of Tirana, amid greenery and the evergreen color, stands the Academy of Sciences, and next to it an old Austrian-style building known as PARLIAMENT. There 140 elected men meet, whenever they consider it necessary. Their mission is to pass laws and oversee the government. In order for them to be as productive as possible in their noble work, the government has taken several measures. For example, not only the building but also the area around it is guarded. In this period there is the sun of dori and also the fact that a good part of the ministers are also exhausted deputies. It is said that here we are dealing with a constitutional show, but it leaves something to be desired in practice. In such a state, what are the rights of the deputies? Do they have rights in parliament? These questions being raised in most newspapers still have not received a full answer. I suppose, to return to this delicate question, it helps to recall the session of the People's Assembly, dated 15.7.1992. It was not held because of the absence of deputies. It is superfluous to list here the many tasks and troubles that this country has. Yet this parliament is being presented in such a way that, with their posing, they claim the Assembly is out of step with the country and the times; the parliamentary pretensions are worthy of reminding one of the astronomers of Constantinople, who watched the stars while it was burning. P.S. At the time this material went to press, we learned that parliament will also close at the end of August. In other words, the parliamentarians will rest. LUFTI DERVISHI

Who will we vote for?

Where are we going? What are we doing? Democracy? These and other questions are heard every day from many fellow citizens, neighbors and even some relatives. Who will we vote for? Where are we going? What are we doing? Democracy? These and other questions are heard every day from many fellow citizens, neighbors and even some relatives. Where are we going? There... there, where we once wished to be. There for which we demonstrated, forgave, promised. Getting there is not easy: fifty years stand between us and that "place." "They" will become hell, stones, thorns, open pits... The thorns prick and draw blood. The stones, wounded, block out the sun; "grow up," says a child, "you got married today, it will sprout tomorrow." To give birth to a child you need nine months. Four months have been won. Endure if you can’t endure? Because I am poor, ruined, hungry. Why don’t "they" leave you alone too, with thorns, bushes, pit-openers, abysses, poverty, misery, poison-sprinkled grafts, death? We know where we are going. We know our road. Toward the West. Toward those countries where freedom was born, born in time, where people have worked and built. Today the West is developed; it has prosperity, standards. We are heading toward capitalism, leaving behind communism, the destructive socialism. Our ideals are right-wing. We are convinced that God sees us and will think of us because we love Him. We have even forgiven a "they" that did not love Him: God. Who will we vote for? For those who love God and brought Him back. For those who love freedom of speech and brought it back, for those who love private property and brought it back. For those who opened the prisons, the border, minds, and prospects... ZEF BUSHATI

Portrait of an antichrist

At the beginning of last year, when the first shoots of political pluralism had just sprung up, promising hope for the victory of democracy in our country, friends and enemies alike began to increase their interest and activity regarding Albania. Portrait of an antichrist "O LORD! GIVE ME THE STRENGTH TO BELIEVE IN GOD!" At the beginning of last year, when the first shoots of political pluralism had just sprung up, promising hope for the victory of democracy in our country, friends and enemies alike began to increase their interest and activity regarding Albania. At that time, the Vorio-Epirote and Megali Idea circles also began to stir. Among them, Father Sebastianos, Metropolitan of Konitsa, stood out, drawing his rusty sword from the mill. He organized rallies in the border areas with Albania. "Oh Lord, or never," he began to shout. "We will continue the struggle." He called for the "mobilization of thousands of Vorio-Epirote agitators," and spoke like a wolf, about some Vorio-Epirote organization based in Corfu that had taken up operations in Himarë. An entire strategic plan, the core of which aims at the "liberation of Vorio-Epirus not with weapons, but by means of the Trojan horse dressed in paper armor. Terrible! Bravery is over, cunning has begun. Father Sebastianos was again placed at the disposal of the role of the Trojan horse. But now he will not re... WHY IS ALEKO DHIMA THE GOD? In the infamous tract of the Vorio-Epirote organization and traitor to the people of Himarë, among other things, it says: "3. An agreement will be signed between the Albanian Orthodox Church and the Greek one to connect the churches of Vorio-Epirus in general, and those of the Himarë region in particular, with all necessary items. For the Greek side it will be signed by His Eminence Sebastianos and Janulatos, and for the Albanian side by Aleko Dhima, secretary general. 4. The masses in Himarë, Dhërmi, Palasë, Vuno, Qeparo, Kudhes will be held in Greek, according to the Sebastianos-Janullatos-Dhima agreement" Mr. Dhima, have you accepted that a form of Vorio-Epirotism exists on Albanian soil? Have you accepted that Greek be preached in the churches of the Autocephalous Albanian Church? What else does the Sebastianos-Janullatos-Dhima agreement contain? Are you aware of the suppression of all Orthodox Christians in Albania in whose name you signed the agreement? If these are true, who are you, Mr. Secretary General? If they are not true, why are you silent, Mr. Aleko Dhima? ENGJELL TOPI after all, so as not to escape from this non-Albanian thing, which has always been and will always be linked to the Greek one, against Islam and Catholicism? As for the great help that the Greek church gives to the Albanian one, you had, solely and only at first, happened, it gives to a neighbor. 2. That the Albanian church has always been and will always be linked to the Greek one is true to the same extent that it is also linked to every other Orthodox church. On the contrary, with Muslims and Christians on the lips and the devil in the heart, he will remain, like a neighbor, in the Greek language. Of the 10 programmatic points spoken of in the Vorio-Epirote tract, there is no need to discuss them, because they are controlled, in the service only of the 5th party, in which, among other things, it says: "There will be talk of the great help that the Greek church gives to the Albanian one and of the efforts it makes to keep from separating from it". I promise them rifles instead of crosses, to attack and liberate Vorio-Epirus. The Vorio-Epirote Don Quixote attacked the windmills. But his Rocinante died, and the progressive Greek forces took care of him. The Albanians laughed. But the Vorio-Epirote Don Quixote did not and will not give up. He will only change tactics. This fairy-tale story came to mind when a tract fell into my hands, repeated with every other Orthodox church as well. 3. The efforts made by the Greeks not to separate from the Albanian one prove that the Vorio-Epirotes, with Sebastianos at their head, consider "the Albanian one" to be a branch of the Greek one. Who gives them this right? VANGJUSH GAMBETA (To be continued on page 2)
