Then Mr. Hysen Selfo, deputy chairman of the National Front Party, took the floor. Mr. Selfo then spoke about the historical necessity of creating the LDSH. Today we are for— more freedom for citizens. At the end, Mr. Hysen Selfo called on uncommitted intellectuals to join the LDSH. Kurt Kola, Sabri Godo, and Hysen Selfo explained, through their answers, the LDSH’s position on Law 7501; the issue of returning property to former owners; the danger facing Albania if the law on the sale and purchase of land is approved; and the petition the LDSH is preparing on issues concerning former political persecuted people; the problems of the Albanian Right and the LDSH’s insistence on uniting with all right-wing forces and setting confrontations aside; and the distribution of national wealth through securities. “Securities distributed in this way will be worth less than the value of the paper they are printed on,” Mr. Godo said, among other things. The LDSH leaders also answered questions concerning relations with the minority, Greece and foreign policy, the punishment of those who committed crimes during the years of the dictatorship, etc. The fourth stage of the LDSH leaders’ tour in the South will be a meeting with the people in Delvinë. “Republika” correspondent

distinguished, of creating the LDSH. Today we are facing a great battle with the former communists, which we must win. It is our duty to save the Homeland from turning back. Mr. Selfo then explained the LDSH program, sharply criticizing the current government. It will create greater legal space for the free individual through the law and the rule of law, more rights and … On behalf of the LDSH constituent organizations’ chairmen, he presented the League’s political, social, and economic program. Among other things, he emphasized the need to draft a national platform, explained the LDSH initiative to organize a nationwide petition opposing the law on the re-purchase of land, described Law 7501 as a social-communist law, emphasizing the damage it has caused and continues to cause the country, and called for the protection of Albanian emigrants and the rights of the diaspora. At the end, he evoked the patriotic traditions of Përmet and its people. The sounds of the National Anthem signaled the beginning of the LDSH rally in Përmet. The chairmen of the League’s constituent organizations met the people of Përmet at the city’s Palace of Culture on April 16 at 11:00. After Mr. Ylli Kasaj, chairman of the Association of Former Political Prisoners of Përmet, offered his greetings, Mr. Kurt Kola, current chairman of the LDSH and chairman of the Association of Former Political Prisoners of Albania, took the floor. Will Janullatos fail to return to Albania?

His doctor says no rapid improvement is expected Since March 29, 1995, Janullatos Anastasi has been hospitalized at the “Evangjelizmos” hospital in Athens. According to the medical statement issued to the Greek press, the reason for his emergency admission was “serious breathing problems and a pulmonary infection that caused an exacerbation of chronic asthma.” Contrary to what was announced in the mass media, it seems that his eyes were not what forced him to go to Greece for treatment. The eyes mentioned by Mr. Papulias were merely the reason for issuing him an Albanian visa to return. The main point is that, according to his own attending physician, Prof. Dr. Russos, he is still ill; he could not come for Palm Sunday, and he is not expected to come for Easter Sunday on April 23. Speaking by phone from “Evangjelizmos” Hospital to “Republika,” Dr. Kristof, who was attending Janullatos at his bedside, said that there had been no improvement and that travel was not recommended in his condition.

Hey, people!! Today, on Easter Sunday, when Catholics are celebrating, the Albanian people have decided to unite following the example of Catholic Europe. Therefore, the socialists’ commitment to the Kosovo issue will increase. These measures are being taken only after the Kosovars accepted the Greeks as mediators; otherwise, no one would have sent them off so deftly and with the whole entourage. It is not important whether our national question will be resolved; what matters is that it will be resolved. Our question is one that has been put forward for resolution, and it will be resolved. A new law will be enacted to give every Albanian what is due to them. Those who think they do not deserve as much as the law gives them may donate it to the New Democracy Party, but no later than two weeks from now. On this occasion, the Government will organize a reception for representatives of the political parties who will call on their electorate not to accept these privatization papers. ...
