The land sale and purchase law is an act of mass plunder At last, the neo-communists and social-communists have carried out the most shameful act of mass plunder of the Albanian people: the Law on the Sale and Purchase of Land. The social-democratic duo, united in a fist around Ramiz Alia and the old communist base, completed the song begun at the very start of pluralism. Both sides, in astonishing unison, praise this immortal, legendary, farsighted and heroic act of theirs. And in one respect it truly is such, because it is a blow against the idea that property is inviolable—that force which kept our nation alive during the 50 years of dictatorship—and one swears that one knows of no opposition to this law, not even communist opposition. To be fair to public opinion, and not to attack the esteemed chairman Pjetrin, since he knows everything, and for this reason, besides being fair to others, we are recounting the odyssey of the petition submitted to the People’s Assembly. The delegation sets off for the Assembly offices, where it is received by one of the Assembly’s legal advisers. The question of a response is raised; a few phone calls, and then: “I am depoliticized. But, to clarify things for you, under our package of laws you cannot oppose a law. You can propose a law with 200 thousand signatures...”

Tirana On July 28, the LDSH Plenary Meeting was held and unanimously adopted the following decisions: Approval in Parliament of the discriminatory, anti-national and criminal law on the sale and purchase of land. LDSH considers it an act of treason against the lawful landowners and the interests of the nation, and will fight against this law in accordance with the programme drawn up specifically for that purpose. 1. Continue collecting signatures for the petition to annul the law on the sale and purchase of land. 2. Organize public rallies throughout the country against this law, and file lawsuits in state judicial bodies and even with the highest international organizations. 3. Request discussion of the electoral law with all those who join LDSH. 5. Add a clarification to point 7 of the LDSH Programme. Where it says… “LDSH considers private property sacred and will annul all confiscations…” add “nationalizations, sequestrations and expropriations” carried out to the detriment of lawful property under the communist regime. 6. In the activities carried out so far, despite the good will of the parties involved, certain organizational shortcomings have been observed, caused by the circumstances of the time. These must be eliminated at all costs by ensuring more effective functioning, particularly in the work of the Coordinating Council. 7. In accordance with protocol, Mr Hysen Selfo, deputy chairman of the B.K. Party, was appointed LDSH’s next chair. 8. The declaration concerning... was approved.

The war in Bosnia has entered uncharted territory. If humanity is conscious of what is happening, it must be said that the tragedy of a people is rapidly taking on universal proportions. The United Nations, NATO, the European Community and the Council of Europe are retreating before the Serbs, losing their value as structures for the protection of peace and democracy. The Serbs are defying the entire world. They must quickly withdraw and be brought to trial, or their war machines must be … dealt a swift and decisive blow. Otherwise, world peace will fall prey to criminal aggressors. It is quite certain that once they have finished with Bosnia, the Serbs will ignite a war for the ethnic cleansing of Kosovo, drawing the Balkans and Europe into conflict. The Albanian Right League welcomes and supports the declaration of the Albanian Government dated 26 July 1995 and calls on the People’s Assembly to declare its position on this matter of vital importance.

Its progressive effects have begun to appear. 24234525 ha have been sold with proper documentation. Next month, all the remaining hectares are expected to be sold. This sale will go down in history as “the sale that sparked reform.” Tomorrow, the law “On the release of Fatos Nano and several ...” will be presented to Parliament. The entire constructive and destructive opposition will boycott this law. If the law is approved by the party, then the Constitutional Court will declare it unconstitutional, unless it is dissolved first... Parliament is as sophisticated as American airplanes without pilots. It is controlled from a secure base somewhere deep inside... while information from the field is sent back using highly sensitive cameras. The latest scandal in Parliament, when some MPs did not know the words of the Internationale they sang after the law was approved—including among them self-proclaimed leftists—cannot be left unremarked. You cannot become left-wing through words alone. A leftist also does left-wing deeds. Self-proclaimed leftists are more dangerous than the bourgeois themselves. The bourgeois openly fight for their own ideas, while some quasi-leftists themselves sabotage the sacred struggle.
