—Mr. Godo, yesterday’s press wrote about a split among the right-wingers, and the latest meeting of the LDSH is being taken as the point of reference. What can you tell us about this “split”?

Some people cannot help being in opposition. These “oppositionists” will destroy us. We really put up with everything, even democracy. Certain things like this cannot be allowed... Hundreds of letters have come from the people asking that the courts be protected from interference by the judicial authorities. It is known that there can be no democracy without a balance of judicial power. So come on, let’s balance it.
Many people cannot understand that the time for radical changes has come. They think the chance to make changes passed a long time ago. Now it is too late, so we have no reason to worry. Changes must be made differently — this will be our slogan in the new elections.
Today we will also protest against the experiments of N.Hoti, who criticized the French experiment. It is reported that Mr. N.F.V.H. will go to the site of the experiment, go on a hunger strike, and stop the experiments with his chest.
We will add Engels to Marx in the program. Those who insist that Marx be removed, we will warn that we will also include Lenin, Stalin, and Ho Chi Minh if you keep making fun. Long live P...
Brozi: “I will never appear as a defendant”
Yesterday, at 13:00, Brozi gathered journalists from the Albanian mass media for an extraordinary press conference.
At the beginning, Brozi read a statement saying that, at an urgent meeting on 6.09.1995, the staff of the Court of Cassation considered the unprecedented incident that had occurred that morning. Large numbers of police surrounded the Court of Cassation building. Some of them behaved brutally toward the president of the Court of Cassation and toward the judges Agim Gjoleka, who is reported to have been struck on the head, and Fatbardha Selenica. They prevented three employees, dismissed the previous day by Justice Minister Frashëri, from entering the court, and forcibly took one of them, Krenar Haderi. This is considered an extraordinary incident and an act of pressure exerted on the Court of Cassation. It seriously affects the normal functioning of this court and its independence.
Brozi, wearing his black judge’s robe, then accused the Council of Ministers of the suit it had filed and invited President Berisha to make a public apology before going to America for what was happening to the Court of Cassation. In explaining the morning’s events, when the large police force “broke the law — according to Brozi,” he also made accusations against the Albanian political authorities and the Ministry of Justice, particularly regarding the unconstitutionality of the lawsuit against him, since the Constitutional Court itself is illegal. “I will never testify before this court and will never appear as a defendant,” Brozi told the journalists.
“The Court of Cassation has suspended its activity, and many employees have expressed a desire to leave,” Brozi continued, “solely because of the pressure from the police surrounding the Court of Cassation.”
At the press conference, judge Fatbardha Selenica also spoke in equally harsh terms, accusing the people directing the operation of having acted illegally.
In response to journalists’ questions, Brozi explained: “I have called all the state institutions, but they no longer answer Zef Brozi’s calls. Even Azem Hajdari no longer picks up.”
“The Court of Cassation,” Brozi said, “is under psychological pressure, and it is impossible for it to deal with cases.”
“I have appealed to all the staff to remain calm and continue working,” he said in response to a journalist’s question.
The state has now resorted to police action, having found nothing in the Brozi file, and yesterday remains a challenge to the authorities, which did not come to face the citizens and the claims they have concerning my leadership.

Police forces were sent to ensure normal work at the Court of Cassation
This is the response of Justice Minister Hektor Frashëri. In an official conversation, he confirmed that the deployment of police forces was in no way intended to obstruct the work of the Court of Cassation; on the contrary, it was meant to ensure normal work there, since the previous day there had been many citizens and disturbances. In response to these events, police forces were also sent to ensure normal work, and they withdrew after a certain period.”
How do you see the future of the League, in light of recent events?
“There are no recent events that warrant such questions.”
[The upper part of the text is cut off at the beginning] …of the LDSH. an example. There is no division in the League. It seems to me that some newspapers keep dwelling on this matter. As soon as the League holds a plenary meeting, someone immediately looks for an element with which to announce its split. At the meeting held on September 5, a proposal by the Association of Former Political Prisoners and Persecutees was put forward; it will be discussed at the next meeting. This is entirely normal. Everyone discusses how things can be done better. Discussion together sorts through the proposals and, ultimately, what the majority wants is what prevails.
“How does the fact that Selfo has refused to sit at the round table of parties to discuss the new electoral law affect the unity of the Right-Wing League?”
“It is not true that Mr. Selfo gave such an answer. He said they would examine the issue and decide. I believe they will take part.”
“How do you see the future of the LDSH, in light of recent events?”
“There are no recent events that warrant such questions. In my view, the Right-Wing League, which may expand in the future, forms the basis for the development of a stable right wing even after the elections, an element that is missing from the political arena today. I mean a right wing that carries significant weight in Parliament and functions internally as a coalition.”
Bulgaria’s winning streak ends in Tirana
This time, fortune was with Albania: 1–1
Raklli just like Stojckov
It had been a while since Raklli had scored for the national team.
Exactly since December 18, ’94, when in Kaiserslautern he put his name alongside Klinsman’s and Mateus’s. It is as if our strikers have “agreed” to score in turn. This time Sokol Kushta has given up his place on the electronic scoreboard to Altin, who with his 15th-minute goal gave Albania the equalizer and saved it

The two-month Albanian-American exercise “Uji Kristal ’95” concluded
During these two months, all four objectives set by both the American staff and Albania’s Ministry of Defense were achieved.
The “Uji Kristal” exercise served to exchange experience in the field of medicine between the two armies, restructure the army hospital center, equip the Traumatology Center with modern equipment, and identify a water source to meet the Military Hospital’s needs for a continuous 24-hour water supply. All these objectives were achieved, and on the day the exercise concluded, the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army in Europe also arrived
