The Town Crier

The Town Crier Miss Albania has expressed the wish to work wherever the Homeland needs her. Miss Pressi, being undecided, will work as a lawyer in cases where journalists have trouble with judges, while Miss Politics will be given the courtesy of withdrawing from political life whenever she needs to. Last night Ardit Gjebrea got stuck on the march in “Makina e Kujtesës.” In the program Fokus, Roberto Papa will say, “So there you have it, even in Albania we organize Miss ... and why not, one day we will have Mister...” Next year Vera Grabocka will summon the party leaders for the Miss Politics committee. As part of the sponsorships, a tender will be announced for the firm that undertakes sponsorship of enthusiastic applause. In the next elections, this firm will sponsor the applause of 1.6 million voters. And when the lights come on, there will be no need to sponsor the applause.

The Beauty of Durrës - Miss Albania '95

Last night at 23:15, 17-year-old Hygerta Sako from Durrës was declared the Albanian Goddess of Beauty for 1995. The Beauty of Durrës - Miss Albania '95 Last night at 23:15, 17-year-old Hygerta Sako from Durrës was declared the Albanian Goddess of Beauty for 1995. She received the Beauty Crown only moments after winning the Miss Press award from the journalists’ jury. In an interview given just minutes after the show ended, Sako said: “My dream is television.” Twenty-three girls competed last night at the Palace of Congresses to find the most beautiful. Vera Grabocka’s television direction brought the spectacle to 3,000 spectators in the hall and to viewers across the country. Thus, the DEA crown began its search for beauty among more than two hundred girls divided into three categories, until it reached the first category with 23 beauties. The show was enriched by many prominent figures from our art and culture, as well as major names such as Pierre Cardin, Giuliana De Sio, Daniela from Switzerland, and Michael Jackson’s lookalike. The 23 Albanian contestants speak foreign languages. The show’s main presenters were the familiar Pandi Laço and Ardit Gjebrea, as well as the new name of designer Edi Hila. Thus, the Miss Albania pageant produced its fourth winner after Valbona Selimllari, Sidorela Kola and Monika Zuguros. Unlike in previous years, this spectacle offered more naturalness and less “artificial” beauty preparation. Their hometowns came from all parts of Albania. Photo: Lulzim Lika, Reuter

Nano in Cassation Tomorrow

Tomorrow the Court of Cassation will hear the case to examine Fatos Nano’s request for his sentence to be calculated under the new Penal Code that entered into force in June 1995. Nano in Cassation Tomorrow Nano is boycotting the trial but has not withdrawn the appeal Tomorrow the Court of Cassation will hear the case to examine Fatos Nano’s request for his sentence to be calculated under the new Penal Code that entered into force in June 1995. In a letter from Bënçë Prison, Fatos Nano has announced that he is boycotting this trial. However, to this day no one has appeared at the Court of Cassation to withdraw the request made by Nano in July 1995 from Tepelenë Prison. His lawyers, Perparim Sanxhaku and Agim Tirana, the latter having become an assistant lawyer after failing an exam, have also not done so. Since this request has not been withdrawn, everything is legal and the court will follow the usual procedure. After the removal of his immunity by Parliament on 27 July 1993, on 3 April 1994 Fatos Nano was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment, a decision that remained unchanged both at the Court of Appeal on 26 May 1994 and at Cassation on 28 July 1994. From the amnesty of 28 November 1994, he benefited from a reduction of 3 years, 6 months and 21 days. He also benefited from a further two-year reduction on 20 March 1995. Thus, counting the time he is already serving, he still has 3 years and 6 months in prison left. Nano tried to find openings in the new Penal Code in order to be released, but he was unable to obtain this release in the Tepelenë and Tirana courts. Tomorrow at 10:00, the trial will be held in the Court of Cassation under the direction of Zef Nika. S. M.
