The beauty of Durrës - Miss Albania '95

Last night at 23:15, the 17-year-old from Durrës, Hygerta Sako, was crowned the Albanian Beauty Queen for 1995. She received the Beauty Crown only moments after winning the Miss Press title from the jury of journalists. In an interview given just minutes after the end of the show, Sako said that "my dream is television." Twenty-three girls competed last night at the Palace of Congresses to find the most beautiful. Vera Grabocka’s television direction brought this spectacle before 3,000 spectators in the hall and viewers throughout the country. Thus the DEA crown began searching for the beauty among more than two hundred girls divided into three categories, until it reached the first category with 23 beauties. The show was enriched by many leading figures of our art and culture as well as big names Pierre Cardin, Giuliana De Sio, Daniela from Switzerland, and Michael Jackson’s double. The 23 Albanian misses speak foreign languages. The show’s main characters were the usual Pandi Laço and Ardit Gjebrea, as well as the new name of the decorator Edi Hila. Thus the Miss Albania pageant produced its fourth winner after Valbona Selimllari, Sidorela Koles and Monika Zuguro. Unlike previous years, this pageant offered more naturalness and less "artificial" beauty preparation. Their geography spanned all parts of Albania. Photo: Lulzim Lika, Reuter

Nano in Cassation tomorrow

Nano boycotts the trial but has not withdrawn the appeal Tomorrow, the Court of Cassation will hear the case to examine Fatos Nano’s request for the calculation of his sentence under the new Penal Code that came into force in June 1995. In a letter from Bënça Prison, Fatos Nano has warned that he has boycotted this trial. However, as of today, no one has appeared at the Court of Cassation to withdraw the request made by Nano in July '95 from Tepelena Prison. His lawyers, Përparim Sanxhaku and Agim Tirana, the latter now an assistant lawyer after failing an exam, have also not done so. Since this request has not been withdrawn, everything is lawful and the court will follow a procedure like any other. After his immunity was lifted on 27 July 1993 by Parliament, Fatos Nano was sentenced on 3 April 1994 to 12 years in prison, a decision that was not changed either by the Court of Appeal on 26 May 1994 or by Cassation on 28 July 1994. Under the amnesty of 28 November 1994 he benefited from a pardon of 3 years, 6 months and 21 days. He also benefited from a further pardon of 2 years on 20 March 1995. Thus, counting the time he is already serving, he still has 3 years and 6 months of prison left. Nano sought to find provisions in the new Penal Code to secure his release, but he could not benefit from this release in the courts of Tepelena and Tirana. Tomorrow at 10:00, the trial will take place in the Court of Cassation under the direction of Zef Nika. S. M.

Tellalli

Miss Albania has expressed the wish to work wherever the Homeland needs her. Miss Press, for her part, has not yet been assigned and will work as a lawyer in cases where journalists have business with judges, while Miss Politics will be given the favor of being able to withdraw from political life whenever necessary. Last night Ardit Gjebrea got stuck on the march in "The Machine of Memory." Roberto Papa, on the program Fokus, will say: "Well then, even in Albania we organize Miss ... and why not, one day we will have Mister..." Next year Vera Grabocka will call the party leaders for the Miss Politics commission. As part of the sponsorships, a tender will be announced for the company that takes on the sponsorship of enthusiastic applause. In the next elections, this company will sponsor the applause of 1 million 600 thousand voters. Meanwhile, when the lights come on, there will be no need to sponsor the applause.
