Only 10% of the total amount has been deposited in these banks. The rest has been entrusted to partners in other firms. Only 12–13% of these amounts are deposited in the accounts of the firms they run. Only 50% of the usurer shareholders use their monthly profits to meet their everyday needs. The 18 bosses and their 55 apprentices have ties to state banks. Some firms have mortgaged up to 33 million dollars with these banks as security solely for the process of lending and borrowing at interest. It is estimated that around 50 million lekë circulate every day from one firm to another; these are the amounts citizens withdraw in installments stipulated in their contracts with the firms. Around 20% of the installments withdrawn are kept by citizens for their families’ everyday needs, while 80% are deposited again in the firm from which the installment is withdrawn, or in other foundations and firms. Are the rumors true that the charitable foundation “Xhaferri” is accepting deposits in exchange for paying the first installment for three months, through November 10? On this subject, on the place occupied by clients’ deposits in relation to the foundation’s own capital, and on the guarantees and their duration offered by the foundation, read tomorrow’s issue of the newspaper “Republika” for a statement by the foundation’s president, Mr. Rapush Xhaferri.
