Alarm and panic over “Gjallica” in Vlora and Fier
Bashkim Driza to “Republika”: The pyramid scheme does not exist in the case of charitable foundations
Why has “Koha Jonë” become nervous?
“Koha Jonë” has stolen from Republika twice
. Koha Jonë continues to be nervous and vents its anger on “Republika.” Just as it did with the blocked telephone lines when it changed offices, it is now doing the same over the “large” debt that “Republika” supposedly owes it for transporting newspapers to the districts. We never imagined that Koha would thunder without a cloud in the sky. Republika confirms that it has had no incident whatsoever with Nikolla’s Agency, and, to our surprise, we see a published threat that it is taking us to court. Why has sweet Nikolla suddenly become angry with “Republika”? The reason is simple: for 1997, the Editorial Office reviewed the offer from “Press Transport - Koha Jonë” and that of “Albania Press.” The economically advantageous offer was “Albania Press.” Nikolla knows he will get the money—in fact, it was paid to him yesterday—even though we still do not have the September invoice. But if “Koha Jonë” specializes in lawsuits, now it is taking on newspapers too. We do not know how this threat will affect the other clients of “Press Trans- Transport - Koha Jonë.” May it work out for the best. Whatever prompted Nikolla to threaten “Republika” with lawsuits, we think he is hitting the saddle while meaning to hit someone else. In reply to Mr. Nikolle in kind, we are compelled to publicly accuse him of theft. “Koha Jonë” has stolen the graphic design of “Republika’s” advertisement. Recently, the advertisement “5 years VEFA-Holding,” created by “Republika’s” layout artist, was appropriated. Without telling us anything, they take the page from “Republika” and put it in “Koha Jonë.” When we complained to him (not in court, but at “Koha”), Nikolla’s newspaper added the name of “Republika’s” layout artist, Vjollca Ruvina, the next day. Now it has taken “Republika’s” layout artist’s VEFA tourist guides and published them in “Koha Jonë.” This time, once again, they are published without a name; indeed, the layout artist’s name is obscured halfway. Don’t we have grounds to sue “Koha Jonë” for theft? And tomorrow, like Nikolla, we could sue without warning you first.
