Yesterday in Parliament, late into the night

, Prime Minister Meksi, presenting the dramatic situation in Vlora, asked Parliament to declare a state of emergency in Vlora. After him, Minister Shamata gave some explanations of the situation from the Ministry of Interior’s point of view. The first of the MPs to speak was Mr. Godo. The MPs who spoke afterward, Rexhepi, Kopliku, Hajdari, Duka, Selfo, Melo and Belortaja, also supported his call. After this, the group of PD MPs requested a recess.

A state of emergency will spread the confrontation further

Mr. Speaker, Parliament has remained outside this problem until today. We have had no information or debate, although we also set up a commission. Sabri Godo’s statement in Parliament yesterday A state of emergency will spread the confrontation further The Republican Party categorically rejects Parliament’s declaration and the proclamation of a state of emergency in Vlora Mr. Speaker, Parliament has remained outside this problem until today. We have had no information or debate, although we also set up a commission. Now we hear an alarmist and threatening speech by the Prime Minister, and an unacceptable declaration is put before us. In emergencies there are two solutions: one military and administrative, the other political. The Prime Minister’s proposal and the spirit of the declaration lean toward the first solution. The declaration is unfounded, and they dismiss the imposition of a state of emergency as the worst solution. This will not only fail to restore order, but will spread the confrontation. Honorable MPs, what we say and do tonight will follow us for a long time, so I urge you to debate a political solution.
