Berisha meets with the dead. When Vranicki arrives, the guns roar.
PD tries to break its isolation
Whoever divides the Right adds to the political chaos in Albania
PD tried to make a move to the right, but it will be difficult for it to succeed and put it into practice. You cannot hide the sun with a sieve; PD has incurred a debt to the Right, and there is no place for it in a united right-wing formation.
With its distress, it wanted to call [them] to heel [?]
[headline cut off] ... political chaos in Albania
PD tried to make a move to the right, but it will be difficult for it to succeed and put it into practice.
[headline cut off] ... in a united right-wing formation.
With stubbornness, it wanted to turn the small parties with right-wing programs and electorates into its lackeys. If the leaders guiding the Right once again run after PD’s shadow, they will compromise themselves with the Democratic Party’s mistakes, bear responsibility for the Albanian disaster, and will have to cry out alongside PD: Down with America! On the other hand, if this were to happen, the right-wing electorate would lose faith in its own leaders.
The parties that sat at the table with PD, parties of lost hopes and blurred visions, should not forget that the state party called them to this table as window dressing. It will reject them outright if its interests are touched. Did it not do the same with the right-wingers within its own ranks? Until yesterday it used them as material to call itself right-wing, but when they dared to put Berisha’s party on the rails of democracy, they were labelled “ruisling.”
The Democratic Party is trying to maneuver to the right, but the climate in which it is maneuvering is extremely cold. Those who sat at the table (to tell Vranicki, “I am not alone”) looked as though they felt they were sitting on thorns. Perhaps they were cold too; perhaps they felt uneasy about the electorate standing far from the screen; perhaps they remembered the statements made just days earlier: “We will not form an alliance with PD”; perhaps ...
But why was that table needed, announced the previous morning in the pages of the President’s independent newspaper? There are several reasons, but the most apparent seem to be two. First, to create a new image before the shaken electorate and the international forums, where they no longer believe the fairy tales told by Grandma PD. PD needs at all costs to break the isolation that has made it dysfunctional. But in its attempts to kill its isolation, it is not difficult to discern its desire to divide the alliances of the Right as well. This is the worst position this party, angry with itself and others, could have taken.
Second, the Democratic Party called the right-wing parties to the table hoping to secure an electoral run with a front where it could have its hands on every lever. But now it is too late. Albanians have woken up, and PD’s credibility has fallen. The varnish has long since worn off multi-party coalitions. It used coalitions as a façade and lured its small allies with empty promises, then tossed them crumbs, suffering from an insatiable greed.

The Constitutional Court has concluded the judicial investigation concerning the legally opened dispute between Prime Minister Fino and the four-star general, Deputy Minister of the Interior, Agim Shehu.
The Constitutional Court has also concluded the judicial investigation concerning the legally opened dispute between Prime Minister Fino and the four-star general, Deputy Minister of the Interior, Agim Shehu. According to the court’s president, a ruling will be issued within two weeks. After issuing its first judicial ruling against the institution of the President, the Constitutional Court is on the verge of a judicial ruling that will call a presidential decree into question. While the Government dismissed the four-star general, Agim Shehu, the President of the Republic defended him by refusing to accept such a dismissal.
