Berisha’s proposal is accompanied by bombs
. Yesterday in the early morning hours, a bomb exploded against the walls of the prestigious “Soros” Foundation. Also yesterday, around midday, an anonymous phone call informed the Ministry of Justice that a bomb had been planted on its premises. The police, having set up an iron cordon and evacuated Ministry staff, concluded after considerable commotion that the alarm was false. The Ministry of Justice is located in the same building as the offices of the Parliament’s Presidium, the Constitutional Court, the State Audit Office, the Ministry of Culture, and AKP. Just three days earlier, a bomb exploded in the middle of the city of Vlora, in one of the sewage manholes in the city center. There were no injured or dead, only material damage. At Tirana’s “Qemal Stafa” high school, a bomb alert was issued without [fols]. As a result, pupils go to school with their books in plastic bags to show what they are carrying with them. Students of the Faculty of Law also had the chance to experience a similar episode. The story of terrorist bombs has become so widespread that many people who are informed of a bomb threat no longer take the alert seriously. This does not mean at all that people are getting used to such a “joke,” but that, like every terrible thing in Albania, this story of bombs is becoming normal. Someone has decided to spread panic. This is more than obvious and requires little thought. Precisely while Mr. Vranicki was holding meetings at the Hotel Rogner, someone got the idea of making a bomb threat by phone to the Ministry of Justice, which is practically opposite the Hotel Rogner. And the mediator was proposed by Mr. Berisha to inspect the South and all of Albania himself, to determine whether elections can be held under these conditions and when. Right there, where Mr. Vranicki’s eyes can see—in Tirana and Vlora—there are bomb incidents. Someone is trying to ruin the President’s plans and convincing image. The bomb alerts are not, in fact, directed at Albanians. Many have died during this period even without bombs. They are directed at Europe, which insists on June elections. Their purpose is clear. Elections cannot be held with bombs underfoot. So it is not only the committees, but also the bombs. Whom will the DP, Mr. President, Parliament, and the DP ministers accuse now? Naturally, the committee extremists, who have found room to operate in Tirana too. The others, who are more detached from the committees, keep silent and roll the dice over whether there will be a bomb today.
