The end of the spiral of communist rule

The true Right—the only hope for Albania Berisha’s diversion against the PR—a tactic from bygone times The spiral of communist rule in Albania has ended. — a tactic from bygone times

The true Right—the only hope for Albania Berisha’s diversion against the PR—a tactic from bygone times The spiral of communist rule in Albania has ended. — a This country can no longer be governed either by old-style communist çetniks or by neocommunists who have donned the cloak of democracy. In short: the spiral of communist rule must be brought to a close. Albania has no time to lose. Communist Berisha insists in vain that his party is the center of pure democracy. Anti-communist slogans and communist mindsets are of no use to exhausted Albania. What did Albania gain under Berisha’s leadership? Chaos, regression, division, and international isolation. Berisha’s headlong rush and that of his clans must be stopped before it is too late. Considering the rule of the neocommunists led by Berisha to be over and extremely harmful, the real Albanian Right would do well to burn in his hands the “Card of the Right” that the President is trying to play. The marionettes he has gathered around himself will answer before the nation and the Right-wing electorate for the betrayal they prepared and their flirtation with Berisha. Apparently, the President’s motto has taken hold among them: All fellow sufferers, all jointly guilty. The King’s party, represented by Guro Durollari, not only insulted the monarchists with its move, but also smeared the aspirations of the Right to lead Albania out of chaos with a right-wing program. Not only that, but Durollari also compromised King Leka. The PLL’s compromise with Berisha’s party makes Albanians suspect that Berisha invited Leka for this very reason. First, to divert attention from his own responsibilities, and second, to steal the core electorate that accompanied His Majesty on his tour around Albania. The chairman of the PLL forgets that the ink has not yet dried on his signature supporting the proportional representation law. Now he has chosen a somewhat marginal role, claiming: A party chairman is not competent on the law, and that is supposedly a matter for lawyers. On the other hand, the monarchist leader forgets that before he got Berisha’s permission for a referendum, it was the allies of the Right who had supported him. The “right-winger” Laço has also entered Berisha’s fold. It seems he has always been present in Berisha’s annex. Still, let the President’s party enjoy the left’s right wing! Continued on p. 3

As the elections approach, alarms increase

Four false bomb alerts, one explosion and a gas attack at a children’s school since May 7, in the capital alone. And in minds disoriented by the alarms and explosions, widespread rumors are also circulating, which speak—even on several occasions and with precise dates—of school hostage-takings and the abuse of children in the capital and the districts. Childish pranks, or does someone want things to reach a point where Albanians would rather shut themselves inside their homes and pray that at least there they won’t be blown up? Continued, p. 2
