Why Berisha is holding Nano hostage

Italian director: Kamberi loan, a lie. Sute’s losers achieve their first victory.

Vote thieves!

“They can, they can’t.” Albanians, holding the flower of peace in their hands, pluck its petals as in the old game, waiting with frozen hearts to see what answer the last petal will fall on. In truth, can the peacekeepers protect the voting procedures? of peace in their hands, pluck its petals as can the peacekeepers protect the voting procedures? The procedures from which we expect not only the percentage of votes, but also the future peace, to emerge, as if from the famous box of Pandora? Albanians believe they will vote for this, but at the same time they are aware that there are many thieves in this country. Faith in the conscience of those who were supposed to protect “legality” has long been dead. Albanians cannot trust a false institution that was caused by a sandstorm; they cannot believe that those who could not protect their children, their families, their homes, or their property will protect their votes. That is why they turn their eyes, thirsting for peace, toward those who promise to bring and preserve peace. Will we have them by our side, at least on the day when, full of hope, we cast the only bullet we should use: our vote? The head of the current Albanian government says “yes.” Fino has recently stated that “it is within the peacekeepers’ mandate for Alba to stand guard over the ballot boxes.” In truth, the peace they are supposed to protect will be needed there more than anywhere else. The peace of that day and the peace of the days that follow. The peace of Albania. Meanwhile, the initiators and directors of the peacekeeping mission say that these forces will be neutral on June 29. They will protect only the foreign observers. Is their neutrality compromised if they accompany the voting process? Why should they not also play this role at polling stations that the 400 or 500 foreign observers will be unable to reach? While the role of the peacekeepers on June 29 remains unclear, Albanians continue plucking petals: “with Alba, without Alba.” With Alba, at least we can believe what comes out of the ballot box; without Alba, even if the result is objective, the suspicions and mutual political accusations of manipulation that we are used to will continue to haunt us after the elections.
