Berisha has proclaimed himself the opposition leader ever since he lost power. At the head of the DP, he looks like a beaten rooster, but he is still in that position. As someone who has always wanted to be the center of attention, Berisha has summoned to his side some short-statured politicians who pay court to him at empty tables and convince him that he is the opposition leader. According to this former President, it is not right for another political force to be able to call itself the opposition, because he is the leader. The United Right is thus, exclusively, to be excluded from the anti-communist opposition to the PS and its allies. This is because the former President of this country has handed us this card, and he can easily be called this country’s political failure. Puffing himself up in front of journalists, Berisha forgets that he is struggling to bring the PR and Balli into his own fold, but since that is not working, he is pursuing a policy of exclusion, as has always happened with him over these years. The spirit Berisha is trying to introduce into politics is extremely dangerous. In power, he could not tolerate rivals beside him; being the same way in opposition, however, he could become a deliberate underminer of the opposition. This can only help the government, which will find it much easier to deal solely with Berisha, discredited in politics. The Right, this strong opposition of the Albanians, can be successfully undermined by Berisha’s politics, and naturally this is all the more in the interest of the former-communist left-wing government, which sees itself staying in power for a long time with Berisha in the opposition.
