PS and PD, protagonists of clan-based politics

The criminal act in Parliament was harshly blamed on the kanun. The socialist leadership considered the "jatarsia" exhausted after a constant battle; a resignation scenario was staged with Majko, but the ending was disastrous. Nano travelled calmly to Hong Kong and before leaving he also attacked the PS "kanun", calling his government program a centre-right program! A big deal, since voters have voted for the socialist, or social-democratic, alternative. Nano and his staff firmly believe that if voters manage to confront the new PS program, the matter will be closed through an expedited procedure, with the blame assigned to the party’s "kanun". Clan psychology is also present in the PD. Berisha, even before the investigation into the crime had been completed, gathered the angry crowds and led them toward ... nothing, since he has not determined anything concrete. The slogan "to sweep away the forks of crime" seems far too sluggish to inspire a new political reality in favor of the PD. It is paradoxical to demand the resignation of the head of government as the "organizer of the crime" and, on the other hand, declare that there will be no early elections. The electorate finds this political "kanun" hard to interpret. Public protest is natural when precedents of crime appear, but their politicization should be checked by political objectivity. The contradictory elements currently visible in the political course of the PD risk undermining the effects of a perverse approach to the political configuration of the government, led by the PS. Mazreku was perhaps rightly described as a victim of the kanun syndrome, but this does not constitute any warning or appeal for Albanian neocommunist politics. Politics that does not recognize consensus, as a fundamental factor of pluralist democracy, outlines individual survival, which crystallizes kanun-based norms. It was precisely the "ranuni" that did not allow the PS to select, from among its members, figures more balanced and more suitable for the People's Assembly. Likewise, it is precisely the "ranuni" that does not allow the PD to adopt a new political face, with more credible figures and a more rational logic in the exercise of opposition.
