Populism - the show of the day

PS returns to the podiums PD prefers squares and streets Populism, the mechanical solution for compensating for concrete alternatives. The two main political forces, PS and PD, have chosen populism in order to survive in politics or in government. Prime Minister Nano comes from Hong Kong and the USA and, without first confronting journalists, catches his breath at the Palace of Congresses, among the many militants, to show that he is a tribune leader who differs very little from his communist predecessors. The many applause, the stale superlatives about one another, and very few figures. That was yesterday’s neo-communist configuration that reappeared at the meeting with supporters. Rhetoric, academicism and abstraction formed the essence of Nano’s speech. No less pathetic and even confused was the prime minister’s performance before the journalists at the press conference organized after the festive meeting. The tangled syntax left no room for accurate and concrete answers, so much so that the journalists found it difficult to make sense of the replies. No less populist is the political activity of the PD, playing with worn-out symbols and overused tricks. The PD is engaging in suicidal political marketing. Abandoning Parliament, however motivated in principle, is a true absurdity. The People’s Assembly is the most suitable and functional place where one can politically serve a given mission and alternative. President Hajdari does not possess as much political capital as the Democrats think. Hajdari is not able to glorify his figure until he turns it into a symbol for effective revenge. His language in Parliament would irritate any foreign diplomat or political analyst. If the PD continues to wave only the banner of Hajdarism in the squares, it is doomed. Symbols are created by the people, not by political segments. The people were moved by the misfortune that befell Hajdari, but they would be deeply affected, indeed outraged, if Hajdari were to convey other messages related to national reconciliation and the cleansing of politics from criminals. Then it would be the people themselves who would demand, even as a moral act, the resignation of Gjinushi, Dokle, or some other official. The PD and the PS are unsuitable, both in power and in opposition.
