The national holiday brought out political intolerance

Political warfare in Albania is turning into a Don Quixote-like war. Albanian society is experiencing perhaps its most serious drama throughout its history. The game played by the politicians in power is dividing the country into "principalities". There is no democratic norm or national principle. Yesterday it became clear that the degraded morality of politicians is the greatest evil. Instead of messages of coexistence and understanding, harmony and national reconciliation, National Holiday brought the spirit of intolerance, of political racism and pacifism. Albanians, according to political colors, carried out festive rituals, as a result of political caprices and another form of anti-civilization and irresponsibility toward national and democratic ideals. Split in two, some at one celebration and some at the other, our politicians did not remind their supporters of the morality of unity and brotherhood as a national duty, but made sure not to miss this chance to do politics under the shadow of the Flag. Albanians today are perhaps the only people in the world who enjoy "privatized" holidays. The celebration of Flag Day in Vlora, although magnificent, was dominated by the pink color of the socialists, while the Democrats in Shkodra, instead of the cult of national ideals preached by Father Zef Pllumi, chose Berisha's war, culminating in an incident that shames every Albanian. Today the socialists were mourning with trumpets over the graves of the martyrs, although Berisha himself was yesterday the protagonist of this ceremony. Albanians, united by war, are being divided by peace! May God have mercy on the politicians!
