The Albanian Parliament is expected to adopt a new Resolution on Kosovo on Monday, following Milosheviç’s new challenges to international diplomacy, accompanied by the killing of Albanians. Tomorrow in Parliament, Albanian parliamentary parties must not neglect unifying their vote in favor of Kosovo; whoever votes against has cast a vote in favor of Serbia. The people of Kosovo showed that they have a national consciousness that cannot coexist with a criminal regime. Serbia, as the remaining part of former Yugoslavia, has no identity and as such produces only sparks of war and interethnic confrontations. But we Albanians must show that we have a clearly defined identity and are not an artificial state. Almost most of the political reactions concerning Kosovo have been spontaneous and driven by political gain. The politicians and senior officials of the Albanian State have merely repeated mechanically that the problems will be resolved democratically, through democratic channels, by democratic means. This is unreasonable demagoguery. There is no “deed of ownership” over the historical and national rights of the Albanians. The Kosovo issue is not resolved according to wishes.
