War fever in Tirana
Milošević is bluffing
Milošević is bluffing. He has not only mobilized the Serbian people for war, but is also throwing down the gauntlet to NATO, officially announcing that he possesses sophisticated weaponry
. Milošević is playing a bluff. He has not only mobilized the Serbian people for war, but is also throwing down the gauntlet to NATO, officially announcing that he possesses sophisticated Russian weaponry that can withstand the Alliance’s air attacks. But this is just propaganda. Unlike in the case of Bosnia, the West has a comprehensive strategy for acting against Serbian aggression. NATO is ready to begin an air-strike campaign to stop the Serbian plan. The Serbs are acting on the belief that NATO will not retaliate. Milošević has drawn this conclusion from the West’s previous actions. The Atlantic Alliance does not have much respect for the military capabilities of the Serbs, even though they have equipment supplied by Russia, which, because of the embargo, should be reported to the Security Council. Besides regular forces, the Serbian army also relies on irregular forces that are poorly equipped and even drunk. It should also not be forgotten that the Serbs have great respect for American military power. The American Arab army is very capable of waging a limited war that would force the Serbs to move toward
NATO attacks will be launched from the sea. First the military arsenal will be hit, then the deployment in Kosovo

Solana: Bomb them!
UN chief Kofi Anan sets off urgently for Belgrade in an extreme effort to avert conflict
Yesterday, shortly after 23:20, NATO chief Javier Solana ordered the commander of the alliance's forces in Europe, Ueslej Klark, to begin air strikes against military targets in the territory of the FRY.
After reaching agreement with all 19 NATO member states, Solana finally decided to bomb Yugoslavia. He emphasized that this bombing was not an attack against the country, but a necessary intervention to avert the catastrophe threatening the population in Kosovo.
On the other hand, Solana indicated that Millosheviçi would still have the door open to a new opportunity to move toward a political solution to the conflict.
Meanwhile, the latest news reports that UN Secretary-General Kofi Anan has set off for Belgrade in an extreme last-minute effort to avert conflict. His initiative to persuade Millosheviçi automatically delays, at least initially, the air strikes against Yugoslavia, where, by order of Prime Minister Bullatoviç, a state of war has been declared and the air force has been placed on maximum alert.
Emergency government meeting at midnight. Majko receives a letter from Solana.
Last night, the Government met after Solana issued the order to bomb.
It is learned that, in a letter, Solana guarantees Albania's integrity through NATO.
