It is said that we have had many successes in disarming the population, but also some failures. I say the opposite: we have had many failures, but also some successes. A success was achieved with disarmament in the Gramsh district. Well done. But one swallow does not make a spring. This is because, while Gramsh is being disarmed, dozens of other towns are armed to the teeth. In this regard, it can be said that Gramsh itself will not find peace, because bullets and shells from other towns, whether directly or by ricochet, will kill and wound people from Gramsh too. Also, should the “wolves” and “outlaws” from other districts find out that Gramsh has become a “reserve” springtime paradise of rabbits, hares, pheasants, pigeons, etc. (add banks, shops, depots and warehouses to this), then they will descend like hyenas on the only disarmed town, if the state does not seriously undertake to protect it. But it is said that in Gramsh, alongside the seriousness, humorous aspects are also evident. Thus, while someone hands over a weapon, they receive a certificate of commendation in a ceremonial manner. But sometimes the person handing it over says: “I got a certificate of commendation for a weapon I handed in, but I have six more at home, so you must organize six more ceremonies, filling out six certificates of commendation with my name.” In this case, Albanian politicians should set the first example: they should lay down their weapons of words against one another, to foster a spirit of cooperation and prevent the deepening of division even further. Disarmament cannot be carried out by state structures alone, although the state must play the leading role. This can be resolved by a broad coalition involving all political parties, associations and religious institutions, through their cooperation and coordination. If our politicians cannot find suitable ways to carry out disarmament, but continue to brandish pistols in Parliament and light the fuses, then let them learn from the UÇK. Otherwise, may the leopards, lions and tigers forgive me, but we must adopt the experience of the jungle. Thus, when they attack, the other animals gather in a circle, tail to tail, and point their horns at the attackers.
