The struggle of interests rules out any adherence to norms or values. But the new configuration brought about by the Socialist Congress is a double-edged sword: on the one hand, it will turn the Socialists into “ragamuffins”; on the other, it will bring new political developments that will inevitably lead to new elections. Political and institutional life needs to mark the beginning of its authentic history. The PS and PD resemble scorpions: when their end comes, they sting themselves and bid farewell to life. Albanians will finally understand that the “third alternative,” held hostage by the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party, is the alternative the nation and democracy need.

Republican leader Mediu visits Tetovë and Mitrovica The leader of the PR, Fatmir Mediu, and the party’s spokesperson, Adi Veli, accompanied by Democratic MPs Pollo and Demi, are in Tetovë today to meet representatives of the Albanian political parties in Macedonia and leaders of the University of Tetovë. Mr Arber Xha-ferri, leader of the PDSH, has arranged a special meeting for the Albanian opposition politicians. After their meetings in Macedonia, Messrs Mediu and Veli, joining a group of Albanian-American members of the diaspora, will also visit Mitrovica.
