Albanian political forces and international diplomacy support the Republican Party in its alternatives and its 9-year practice P. 3 As an established political force, PR has in these years sought to return power to the citizens, as a defender of the values of the individual. This has been made possible through a continuous, honest and persuasive struggle to restore not only property and justice, but also to establish fundamental human rights through institutional channels, raising citizens’ awareness so they can demand from the state what is rightfully theirs, through democratic means and nationwide referendums. Albanian Republicans have been present at all roundtables on the national question, the institutionalization of democracy and the rule of law. The Republican parliamentary group has been, and continues to be, firm in its position: There can be no democracy without the rule of law, without the consolidation of property, its return to its rightful owner, and severe punishment of crime. It was the Republicans who forcefully opposed the abolition of the death penalty following the absurd decision of the Constitutional Court and its approval by the President. This is why the entire diplomatic corps was present at the celebration of the 9th anniversary of the founding of the Republican Party, beginning with the American ambassador Jozeph Limprecht, the OSCE’s Gert Ahrens, Italy’s Mario Bova, Turkey’s Ahmet Okçun, and representatives of Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and Macedonia.
