Unless the CEC is changed, the way cannot be opened to a compromise between the political forces for a normal and democratic electoral process. This is also the latest position expressed by Republican Party officials at yesterday’s press conference. “If there is no compromise on the CEC, there will be no further discussions on the Electoral Law,” declared Neritan Alibali, Secretary of the Department of Press Relations, who explained that this would also be the first and decisive step toward a consensus between the government and the opposition.
