The handcuffs on those arrested are nothing unusual, but the detention and mistreatment of “proper” girls, students and Central Election Commission activists have led Albanians to ask what is happening to their country. The violence in Tirana and in other states is recalling the dark period of the communist dictatorship. A large part of public opinion, the opposition and honest international observers are asking with serious concern: is the police regime being reimposed in Albania? Until yesterday, such questions might have seemed somewhat forced, but today they are taking on a deeply meaningful sense. The killing of a ROZ activist, but also the darkening of schoolchildren, high-school graduates, “proper” girls, teachers, and the use of rubber batons against high-school students and teachers, are giving our country the physiognomy of a state with a purely formal regime.
Can this be simple? Can it happen without being organized? Anyone with even a little education understands that there are strong signs that a strategy is being put in place in a hurry. The so-called “socialists” are using with force the inertia of their شبه-military organization. In the scenes in the city of Tirana, more and more acts of mutilation, forbidden and punishable, are being committed every day. It seems that the omnipresent people of the high command are carrying out their superiors’ orders fanatically. Among the socialists there is a strong impatience to bring back the old totalitarian state. Concrete events are showing this.
Today what is happening in Albania is not simply a matter of public order and security. On the contrary, it is a planned campaign that has brought countless innocent people to ruin. These are facts. They are being seen by the people of the country and watched by foreign eyes. Resistance to the intellectualist group inside the institution has significantly increased, out of fear that protest against political persecution may turn into a criminal stockpiling of the attempted attack, until now prevented by the authorities. The government’s moral and international responsibility is at a critical point.
The destruction of culture in a miserable strategy is the epitome

The raging of the cultural institution, the instrumentalists and the artists against the government is a vivid indicator of everything. It has even become so deeply divisive, so dangerous, that every open mind in the country can understand what structure is at work. Now the attacks, the burning of opposition parties, the beating of journalists and especially the human contingent of the CEC are being carefully coordinated, at a systematic pace, in order to give the left-wing regime a character as similar as possible to Nazism and communism. Hundreds of criminal gestures are emerging before us, but also a politicized judiciary, which is only deepening the moral catastrophe. This is the most dangerous thing that can be done to the country’s democracy.
What is the strategy?
Crushing personalities, intimidating artists, strong pressure on students and activists, as well as a grotesque public language in everything, make up a clear scheme. The right continues to warn, but the left-wing government is deaf to any voice seeking the truth. Even when evidence is found, even when there are testimonies, even when files are opened, arrogance still prevails. After 20:00, numerous police forces circulate through the city streets, inspiring not security but fear. In many neighborhoods and outskirts, people are living with the feeling that every knock at the door could be the beginning of a new persecution. Among a group of intellectuals, inside the institute of culture, the atmosphere from above and the climate of fear are penetrating storerooms, studios, offices and corridors.
