. Meta goes it alone. Recent developments in the Socialist Party have pushed Nano’s profile aside to a considerable extent, moving him almost definitively to the sidelines of events. On the other hand, the frequent and rapid changes of ministers and the even faster appointments of their replacements, with little regard for the so-called coalition formulas, have given Meta the appearance of a man who does not consider it particularly necessary to consult even his own party when it comes to exercising his powers as Prime Minister. Although Meta has not so far been distinguished by any great governing wisdom, he does not seem so naive as to have learned nothing from Majko’s repeated defeat in the congress duel with Nano. His “bravery” in standing up to the party chairman is clearly nothing more than youthful bravado, which, combined with the elections and the political tension that their atmosphere naturally carries for every party, makes Nano and his supporters think carefully before a possible resignation by the party leader. Meta has shown that he knows how to pull a fast one on anyone. He has also shown that he is not easily taken in. Inclined to play the role of a petulant child who threatens to break the glass he is holding whenever he is displeased, he has put Nano in the difficult position of having to be patient, at least until the elections are over. The Socialist leader himself, known for his diabolical patience (especially when dealing with the rank and file of the SP), seems to be waiting for the moment when Meta’s desire to go it alone, without the constant threat of breaking the glass he is holding (the government), will no longer pose a serious danger to him. Then it would come as no surprise if he himself smashed the crystal over Meta’s head, banishing him as punishment to some forgotten corner of the party, as he has done with many other challengers before the current prime minister. The investigation to identify the person who killed 33-year-old Erieta Avdyli has entered a new phase. The feature of this phase is the expansion of the list of people who knew the victim personally.
