Elections leave the country to crime
That is what is happening now as well. The country has turned itself into a “choice” in both meanings of the word. Tiranë was divided by elections too, the school became like that, but after 26 June the two chairmen argued over which of them should be the “success”, and they chose a quiet solution, “disappointment”.
The attempt to dress up all evil as elections is clearly visible, shifting responsibility into a “solution”. After that the police was seen, but apparently it has been told not to look at where crime comes from, but where it is going, even though there is some “choice” to put an end to this story once and for all.
Tiranë was divided in two and so were the elections. The police is working and moving around to learn the place day by day in order to determine the culprit more accurately. Thus the elections have taken an unclear course and ended up in uncertainty.
Now it seems the race has taken another direction. Yesterday a young man was killed. It is still not known where it originated from or who will be responsible. The truth is that crime is increasing and political justifications are being sought for it, while the elections have remained only as the shadow of a failed process.
The central government’s “elections” with the police and the state have left order aside. What was supposed to be a normal democratic process has turned into ground where insecurity flourishes and where public opinion rightly asks: “Where is the state?”
