The end of Poo’s reign Meta demands the Minister’s head

Ilir Gjoni, the new head of Public Order EDITORIAL ...and what has changed?! The end of the takeover of a ministry, where there has been left a government that occupies the place of itself. The dismissal of two deputy ministers from the P-S, as well as the removal from the Ministry of Public Order of a group of generals and police directors linked to the Vlora clan, is the final act of the fierce battle that has begun between Meta’s inner circle and the disqualified police officers. During this time, the police forces have served not the government, but a bunch of madmen who ordered them to make themselves even more monstrous and to do the impossible. They have been encouraged and paid to kill innocent citizens, to kidnap people and take them to the experience of hell, to trample every norm and tradition of the state. But without fear, they have understood that they are not there only to loot and make careers through dirty methods. Now this era is coming to an end, and it can unquestionably be called the first blow and perhaps the best work done by the government today in Albania. Because there can be no peace, nor stable government, without law-abiding public order forces that obey the law and not the orders of gangs. The new leaders of the ministry, if they have the courage to continue what began with the removal of several names, must go all the way. There is no need for half-reforms in the police. Any change must also affect the other links in this rotten chain. Otherwise, everything remains a facade. Page 2

There is no strategy against the energy crisis Albania will import and pay only for the amount of electricity it needs. This was announced yesterday at the government meeting, where its deputy prime minister, Kastriot Islami, said that the government has made it clear that we cannot pay for more electricity than we need. According to Meta, this does not imply a decision to cut energy in the country, but gives the country’s decision-makers and institutions the possibility of managing energy efficiently. As for solving this problem, the Albanian government has admitted that it has made large expenditures to face the energy crisis, and this is mainly due to misgovernment. The minister of public energy, who is in France on an official visit, announced through the spokesman that the Albanian government will make some changes in the energy sector to avoid problems related to electric power. Other Republican economists have gathered their group, examining the possibilities of improving electricity supply. Page 5
