But what I encounter every day in the hopes of Albanians is more frightening. Everything continues to become more frightening amid this chaos of darkness when you know that at the head of the Government is a man who, in that fragile and frightening December ten years ago, stood alongside those who were seeking a different life, with more hope of living, with more hope of keeping us on our feet in this scorched land. ... Ten years ago, without knowing how, without knowing at what cost, some young people, in ordinary clothes but with magnificent dreams, began to tear down a wall that had cut their way of life in half. No one gave them a name, but everyone gave them a dream. ...Ten years later, dressed in luxury and with Europe close at hand, we have fulfilled only a nightmare, which hides ever more behind the word DEPARTURE. And, sadly for us, we have nothing left of that beautiful dream, even though we have thousands of things to get rid of, even though we have plenty of pain to forget. ... Ten years later, some of those who lit that dreamed-of torch of change are no longer with us, but neither do we have the punishment of those who, with all their hearts, fan that flame. Broci and Azemi are no longer here, but the murderers are, living in luxury at the expense of that dream... ... At the head of the Government is no longer the old Tao-Tao. In his place is a man who, that December, was among those who dreamed of a different Albania, but... Ten years later, we are once again in a chaos of darkness. To get out, we once again need the spirit of that December; we need the same dream. Perhaps the only dream that can make Albania...
