For this category of nurses, who will occupy their place in the general nursing branch, a special class will be opened as a professional category, with a separate office and a clear educational orientation toward a profession. Meanwhile, subjects such as sociology, psychology, and medical ethics will also be taught at this school, and the obstetric nursing category will also open its doors. Until now in Albania there were two types of schools for the training of nurses and midwives: medical secondary schools and two-year courses after 12 years of general education. These schools were spread across many districts of the country. They were opened mainly according to the needs of each district to meet its own requirements. Their number in Albania reaches 24 such courses.
