TIRANA — There was an agreement between the strikers from Kukës and the Government, so the hunger strike has ended. A group of strikers postponed for several days the demand for compensation for the flooded lands. The meeting with government representatives took place yesterday and, at the end, several points were agreed upon. The strikers demanded that the decision on compensation for the lands flooded by Lake Fierza be implemented. The Government promised to review the issue and find a solution through assistance.

One side among the strikers, who had been on strike for more than 10 days, declared that they would end the strike after the guarantees received from government representatives. The Association of Those Flooded by Lake Fierza, local deputies and other representatives took part in the talks.
