Since 1 July, after the decision of the Energy Corporation, local Electricity directors impose the payment fine on client workers, from 4,000 to 15,000 lekë. Responsibility for non-payment of the energy sold after this instruction is passed to the workers of the sales office. The union had protested at the directorate, because "such a point is not foreseen in the employment contract". The workers also expressed opposition to the corporation's instruction, also because it did not come before the official responsible inspectors, since the quality for similar cases is not kept, according to the wage bulletin. "Irregularities in the Electrical Branch in Gjirokastër amount to 35 percent energy theft, by citizens, private firms and state institutions. While the directorate has not reacted to the workers' protest, they have turned to the court to seek justice, based on the denounced terms of their work contract. Some time ago, minister Xhaja had declared that for "the losses of inspected energy, the responsible parties start from the institution".

A boat overturns in Karaburun, a girl drowns
VLORË - On Saturday around 7:30 p.m. a small boat with passengers overturned.
VLORË - On Saturday around 7:30 p.m. a small boat with passengers overturned at a distance of about 200 meters from the shore. The boat sank in the water while the people traveling on it began efforts to reach the shore. Investigations have confirmed that the six people were seated together in a speedboat, with Italy as their destination on the coast. While five people managed to reach the Orikum coast alive, Liljana Hoxha from Fier, 32 years old, was unable to escape the pull of the water and the place where the tragedy took place was near the checkpoint, at the entrance to the military naval base 'Oriku'. There, the soldiers on guard themselves attempted first aid and to bring the girl back to life. While the other five, by means of police vehicles, were immediately taken away. The lifeless body of the unfortunate woman was taken to the Vlorë morgue, and her family members were also informed of the misfortune. The darkness at sea and the whole uninhabited area near the shores of Karaburun favor the escape of illegal migrants in this area, making it impossible for Italian control vehicles to intervene and provide assistance. During Saturday, near Dhërmi, a tanker truck from Tirana was stopped, with around 65 passengers, who were Kosovars, men and women. The discovery and stopping of the vehicle, eventually with hidden clandestine passengers heading to Italy, was carried out by the Vlorë police. Eight of the persons were found without documents and were released after further checks. (St.Ma)
